A small area of memory in a computer that can be used by some programs. The HMA is 64Kb of extended memory that sits above the 1Mb limit and can only be accessed if you load a special HMA driver ΓÇö this is done automatically for you when you install Windows 95. Note that HMA is not the same as high memory, which is a more general term that refers to a section of memory located between 640Kb and 1Mb.
